On Sunday, June 24, over 70 SVEA 253 members and guests came together at the Latvian Community Center to celebrate Midsommar! While it was a bit warm and muggy, there was a nice breeze, and we were just grateful there were no tornado warnings, like last year.

We decorated the maypole with the abundance of greenery and flowers that people brought with them! Everyone agreed it was the most beautifully decorated maypole in recent memory. We also socialized and listened to lovely music from our friends at Skandilocity.

This year we introduced a new actvity: flower crowns! These were originally intended for the kids, but the adults got in on the action as well and they were a huge hit.

After some delicious lunch from pitch-in items, and a little more socializing and even a friendly game of Kubb, it was time to parade the maypole!

Everyone enjoyed the dancing, including the always fun Små Grodorna, and of course the Grand March, which we did in the shade!

It was a beautiful day to celebrate the changing of seasons, being together and Swedish culture!
