October 2023 Meeting

On Sunday, October 1, we gathered at the Latvian Community Center for our October meeting! SVEA 253 member Dave Nelson presented a film he created, "Remember the Eastland," a fascinating documentary about the Eastland Disaster. Dave's Swedish immigrant grandfather helped rescue people from the incident!

We followed up that program with a delicious fika and lots of conversation.

Join us for the last meeting of the year on November 5, when we'll hear from Svalbard Global Seed Vault representative Åsmund Asdal - all the way from Svalbard, a Norwegian archipelago between mainland Norway and the North Pole!
